Senior Biosimilar Pharmacy Technician

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic pharmacy technician with medicines managementexperience to join the Biosimilar Switch team at the Royal London Hospital. The post holder will be supporting RLH and MEH in delivering biosimilar switches and medicines efficiencies within the specialist medicine division. The role may adapt depending on the requirements of the hospital agenda. The post holder will be managing the Band 3 Assistant Technical Officer within the Biosimilar Switch team and working closely with the Band 8aPharmacist to deliver cost saving projects. You will work closely with the pharmacy team, homecare team and the wider specialist medicine multidisciplinary team to support Royal London Pharmacy department and specialist division team in delivering biosimilar switches and medicinesefficiencies across the RLH and MEH sites. As part of this role, you will be working within the Biosimilar Switch team to plan, implement, track and report various biosimilar switches within the specialist medicine division. You will be required to contact patients and homecare companies to ensure a smooth switch transition and continuously track the key metrics of thecost improvement strategy. The role may also involve ward cover, stock top-ups and dispensary-based responsibilities and may adapt depending on the hospital needs.Main duties of the job
To support Royal London Pharmacy department and specialist division team in delivering biosimilar switches and medicines efficiencies within the specialist medicine division.
To report to the Highly Specialist Pharmacist - Biosimilar and High-Cost Medicines on progress and tracking of the biosimilar switches.
To help oversee the project progression. To work collaboratively with the procurement and homecare teams to support the biosimilar switch work.
The role may also involve ward and dispensary-based responsibilities.
The biosimilar switch project is anticipated to run over the next few years, after completion of the projects, the biosimilar team will be moved into a role within The Royal London/ Mile End Hospital pharmacy team based on the operational and clinical needs. o BTEC Pharmaceutical Sciences /NVQ 3 or equivalent o Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) o Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification o HEE LaSE Medicines Optimisation qualification or equivalent

o Practice Supervisor, Train the trainer or equivalent qualification o ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management qualification or equivalent
ExperienceEssential
o Experience of working in a hospital pharmacy setting o Significant experience as a pharmacy technician o Medicines management experience in a ward based setting, e.g. medication history taking, POD assessment etc. o Dispensing o Pharmacy labelling and stock control systems o Patient counselling o Experience of pharmacy stock distribution and top-up services
