Senior Bid Engineer

Nova Talent are delighted to be working alongside our client, a world leading provider of Communication Solutions within the Aviation & Defence sectors. Together we are recruiting a Senior Bid Engineer to work across both the Bid and Programme Teams, based at the UK Head Office in Market Deeping.The successful candidate will be accountable for the design and develop of ground to air communications systems, providing technical leadership to the Bid or Programme Teams.A bit about what you will be doing:For the preparation of Customer Proposals you will provide:· Technical descriptions· Third party equipment definitions· A statement of compliance· Diagrams and drawings· Calculations (range predictions, co-location etc.)· Non Standards, options and equipment configurationWhen assigned as a Project Engineer working on a contract:· Carry out the technical contract review documentation· Provide clarification of technical requirements if necessary with functional specifications· Review system drawings and diagrams· Provide the defining specifications· Provide third party equipment definitions· Carry out any required calculations· Provide requirement specifications for new products· Generate the interface control documents· Detail any non-standard items, options and equipment configurationOther duties to include:
* Review System Test Reports and initiate corrective action as necessary.
* Review technical feedback and incident reports and initiate corrective action as appropriate.
* Be accountable for the estimation of costs associated with engineering activities and material for the generation of quotations.
* Develop and maintain close regular supplier, customer relationships acting as the technical prime contact point when required.
* Provide detailed technical advice to customer and to a range of staff from internal departments
* Support the research of technology developments, tools, techniques, equipment and suppliers to improve the productivity of the team and/or the quality of the team's outputs.What we are looking for:· Educated to Degree level in a relevant Technical subject.· A strong communicator with solid relationship building skills.· Experience in the Design of VHF/UHF communications, Navigation and Surveillance Systems.· Proven experience in an engineering design position, including system design and turnkey system design with commercial and budget responsibilities.· Hands on, can-do approach.· Customer centric.· Excellent interpersonal and strong negotiating skills.What's in it for you?· Up to £55,000/pa· Working Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week· Hybrid working offering· Flexi Time· 25 Days Holiday, plus Bank Holidays· Private Medical Insurance· Life Assurance· Employee & Corporate Bonus Offering· Employee Assistance Programme· Work for a company with Platinum Accreditation of Investors in People· Supportive company that encourages development of its employees· Team Days
