The Amsterdam and London based team manages investments in real estate funds and ventures across Europe with an aggregate value close to USD 20bn. As we continue to grow our business, we are seeking to add a Senior Associate to the EMEA investment team. This broad role gives you exposure to real estate investments across different sectors and countries within the UK and Europe.
Your main tasks and responsibilities
The focus will be on managing UK holdings, both real estate funds and specialist ventures, on behalf of domestic and overseas investors. Taking a view on which holdings shall sit in the model portfolio for different clients and leading the execution of investments and dispositions. Your key responsibilities will include a lead role (including supervision of analysts) in the following areas:
Investment analysis and underwriting:
Carrying out due diligence, including asset visits, industry/ market research, rental/yield comparables;
Financial underwriting of potential investments and critique fund manager's financial models;
Prepare investment papers and presentations for the approval committees.
Investment monitoring:
Review invested holdings (both non listed fund investments and programmatic or joint ventures);
Sit on advisory boards and hold separate progress meetings with managers;
Review forecasts and research notes on invested holdings (including review of strategy, portfolio, governance and ESG objectives);
Engage with fund managers to accelerate the implementation of our ESG ambitions.
Client portfolio management:
Provide support with portfolio construction, on-going monitoring of the portfolios, reporting to clients and client presentations;
Assist with responses to client requests.
What do you have to offer us?
Graduated from university (Master's degree) specialising in finance, investment or real estate;
Professional qualification, RICS, CFA, ACA or equivalent and FSA approved or equivalent
Minimum of 7 years working experience in a real estate (investment) company or Big Four firm;
Strong analytical skills and a well-developed critical attitude;
Strong work ethic and ambition;
Independent and proactive;
Attention to detail and good organizational skills;
Team player;
Excellent written & verbal communication in English.
