What you'll doWe are seeking to recruit an ambitious Corporate Senior Associate (ideally with 5 - 8 years PQE) to support the continued growth and development of our team in Exeter, ranked by Chambers and Partners as Band 1 in the South West for Corporate/M&A: Lower Mid-Market work.Described by the Legal 500 in 2023 as "a very professional firm with qualities you would look for from a so-called Magic Circle law firm in partners across corporate, tax, property and technology.." our Corporate team are one of the busiest and most successful departments in the firm.A friendly and welcoming team who prioritise finding solutions rather than problems, you will take time to understand what our clients wish to achieve and apply your expertise and experience to ensure delivering a desirable outcome. You will be working with companies from entrepreneurial start-ups to international organisations, advising on a range of corporate transactions including M&A, venture capital, cross-border transactions, private equity investments, joint ventures and restructurings.You will be supported to develop your knowledge and expertise across the sectors, building relationships with a variety of clients encompassing private equity, venture capital and other funds, as well as public and private companies.If you are looking to progress your career in a firm that can truly compete with the breadth and quality of work of London firms, while being part of a collaborative and supportive team culture that promotes a strong work life balance, this is a great opportunity for you.Who you areHaving trained with a similar sized regional or City law firm, you will be a strong communicator with sound technical and organisational skills. With the desire to work for a first class team, you will be focused on delivering exceptional client service, with a sound understanding of mergers, acquisitions, venture capital and private equity.You will have a good eye for detail and able to effectively work under pressure, whilst having an interest in a specific aspect of Corporate law or sector such as Technology, Energy, Healthcare, Digital Health and Life Sciences or will have experience working in a similar sectors or subsectors.Above all, you will demonstrate the ambition and enthusiasm to continually build upon your experience, whilst having a client orientated approach and strong team skills and possess the drive to continue to contribute to the future success of the firm.Why join Team Ashfords?Ask our people, and they will tell you that they genuinely enjoy coming to work and spending time with their colleagues.
