Job Responsibilities
Engage in complex technical discussions with multiple customers to understand their needs and determine / demonstrate which of Spirent's test solutions are appropriate
Liaise closely with product development to solve complex pre-sales customer questions
Work closely with customers to define initial requirements for Tailored Solution or Service
Keep informed of developments in GNSS technologies, market developments and test methodologies
Support BDM on various activities across EMEA - Drive urgent BU action as required
Identify new customer requirements and communicate these requirements/feature requests to BDM
Work with the Sales Enablement team in the UK to generate application-specific materials as well as competitive analysis reports based on technical evaluation of competitors' solutions.
Grow relationships with customers in the military and automotive markets
Clearly document key process and technical requirements throughout the entire cycle
Contribute to the overall improvement of the Professional Services team by contributing learnings, best practices, and customer success stories.
Present/document recent projects for other Spirent regional sales teams to have a proactive approach for similar projects
Provide Marketing and Engineering feedback on product, solution and process improvements as needed.
Help design solutions and formulate responses to RFx, advise and deliver POC/demos, and present solutions to customers. Utilize deep technical knowledge of products and services to align appropriate solutions based on client needs.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical field; or equivalent work-related experience
Minimum of 8 years of work experience which includes 5 years of relevant industry experience with PNT/GNSS or similar wireless technologies including test methodology and analysis skills.
Ability to explain and present technical solutions and the benefits they provide
Experience with compiling technical reports
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Must have a valid driver’s license with a solid driving record
Detail-oriented with effective time management skills
Experience in a customer facing role
Experience using GNSS simulation equipment and/or GNSS receivers is a plus
Experience using other sensors such as IMU is a plus
Knowledge of jamming and spoofing is a plus
Experience with communication protocols, e.g. USB, Ethernet, RS-232 and receiver know how is a plus.
Worked as part of a team to deliver complex project(s) and outcome(s)
Ability to explain the technical solution as well as the benefits they provide.
Excellent English verbal and proven written communication skills ; second language proficiency is a plus
Scripting/Programming knowledge preferably with Python/C++ and MatLab is a plus
Quickly developing a deep knowledge of customers' technical challenges that inhibit their ability to achieve stated product / service delivery objectives.
Demonstrating strength and experience in solution and value selling and the ability to build and demonstrate solid business cases that supports the value proposition.
Ability to propose solutions and work closely with customers to evangelize Spirent’s other services and products for other teams/projects

Job Overview
Spirent Positioning Technology designs, manufactures, and supplies advanced satellite navigation test and simulation systems, many of which comprise radio frequency signal generators and computer systems running complex application software; all designed in-house.
As an
Applications Engineer
, you would be focusing predominantly on the
military and automotive
market.
Reporting into the professional services team based in the UK, you will be responsible for assisting the BD teams in providing technical pre-sales and apps support in a timely fashion based on the opportunity and complexity at hand.
Whilst working closely with customers it would be expected of you to build relationship with the customer, develop deep understanding of their use case and provide feedback / intel back to the PS team and wider BU.
Some elements of delivering Professional Services mostly in EMEA could also be part of the role. You will have a close working relationship with peers in Sales, Global Services, and Business Development. In addition, the role will be hybrid with occasional visits to Spirent’s UK office in Paignton and customer site locations, particularly across the EMEA sector as needed.
