The ClimateShot Investor Coalition (CLIC) is an action-oriented group of investors working in agriculture and food systems. CLIC aims to rapidly scale-up the finance necessary to shift towards low-carbon and climate-resilient agriculture and food systems globally, thus delivering on the ambitions of the Glasgow Breakthrough Agenda on Agriculture agreed at COP26. CPI runs the Secretariat for CLIC.
Position Summary
CPI is recruiting for a Senior Analyst position offering an exciting opportunity to lead the climate and nature risk and impact assessment work under the ClimateShot Investor Coalition (CLIC) program and specifically work with agri-SMEs engaged in the CLIC Agrifood Investment Connector.
Reporting to the CLIC Connector Manager, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for overall technical analytical leadership and knowledge management of the Connector risk and impact assessment work, in close coordination with the CLIC Manager, analysts and independent consultants. The Senior Analyst will also contribute to CLIC research papers and outputs.

The Senior Analyst will work in close cooperation with a range of international partners from the agrifood policy, finance, and corporate spheres, as well as with CPI teams across the globe, focused on scaling-up and accelerating finance for agriculture and food systems globally.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst will be assigned primary duties including, but not limited to those outlined below:
Hold primary responsibility for coordinating the climate and nature risk and impact assessment work conducted under the CLIC Connector, working with cohorts of early stage agri-SMEs based in emerging economies in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Knowledge management, ongoing development of methods and guidance on climate and nature risk and impact assessment drawing on GHG accounting, lifecycle assessment, environmental impact assessment, emerging adaptation, resilience and nature impact assessment frameworks etc.
Lead the team of analysts and consultants to assess climate and nature impacts of agribusinesses in developing and emerging economies, and advise them on how to integrate those in their investors' pitch decks as well as investor due diligence materials, funding proposals, impact measurement protocols etc.
Engage partners, members, agribusinesses and investors in research and analysis collaborations related to risk and impact assessment, to ensure coordination and to boost the effectiveness and relevance of the Connector's offering related to impact and risk assessment. This includes understanding of what relevant funders/partners are assessing/measuring, as well as their views on the CLIC Connector's climate and nature impact assessment methodologies.
Supporting relevant funders/partners in adopting CLIC Connector's climate and nature impact assessment methodologies, e.g. through active engagements, conducting webinars etc.
Support agribusinesses in their grant applications, e.g. reviewing proposals. Communicate and collaborate with CPI staff working around the globe as needed as well as with independent consultants.
Determine resourcing needs and, in close coordination with the CLIC Manager and the Connector Manager, lead the recruitment of external consultants for specific tasks associated with the Connector impact assessment work.
Develop, manage, and implement complex analytical and research approaches, assignments and analytical projects.
Lead the writing and editing of high-quality research products, including full reports, executive summaries, briefs, blogs, and presentations. Produce high-quality materials that are fit for purpose and on time and within budget.
Provide substantial inputs to the CLIC wider strategy, as well as workplans to reflect emerging trends in the field as well as members ambitions and/or agribusinesses' needs.
Train, manage and provide guidance to junior staff on professional work practices and lead by example.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Environmental, Biological or Physical Sciences or another relevant field.
Significant professional experience developing and implementing quantitative and qualitative environmental and social impact assessment methodologies, tools and guidelines related to agrifood systems and climate, in particular drawing on GHG accounting, lifecycle assessment, environmental impact assessment.
Understanding of the agrifood sector challenges in the face of climate change and nature degradation, familiarity with the actors operating in the sector and with actions that are needed to shift the sector towards climate and nature positive pathways by mobilizing finance, with a particular focus on developing economies.
Independent, analytical mind with an excellent track record of applying sound evidence-based judgment to complex issues.
Ability to manage and engage stakeholders in the agrifood sector.
Excellent project management skills including time management, task delegation and prioritization, and communication skills.
Flexibility, professionalism, enthusiasm for working as part of a team, and an ability to interact with a diverse array of people.
An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Beneficial:
Master's or postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
Experience working with MSMEs and/or agribusinesses and understanding of their specific challenges and operating contexts.
Familiarity with issues related to climate or nature finance in agrifood systems or related experience gained as part of either consulting companies, international nonprofit, think tanks, research organisations, government, and/or similar organisations.
Knowledge and understanding of the IPCC guidelines for GHG inventories or other similar core resources, tools, standards and frameworks relevant also to climate adaptation and resilience and nature.
Experience working with actors across the public and private sectors on climate issues related to agrifood systems (for example, impact investors, businesses, development finance institutions, and governments and regulators).
Familiarity with technical assistance and grant funded programs.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Fluency in a second language.
Competencies & Personal Attributes
Advanced user of MS Office suite and Excel.
Flexibility, professionalism, enthusiasm for working as part of a team, and an ability to interact with a diverse array of people.
Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and prioritization skills, and an ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Title & Compensation
This position is a full-time (40 hours), three-year fixed term position based in our London Office.
CPI has adopted a hybrid working policy with at least 2 days per week office based each week.
CPI offers an excellent and competitive compensation and benefits package, with a salary range of £50,000 -£60,000 per annum depending upon experience, 28 days annual leave + addidational days for office closure (27th - 31st Dec)/
