Our team of expert government and business consultants, asset-management, economists, professionals, engineers and industry specialists provide a wide range of services.The Commercial practice area delivers consulting services that help clients establish a strategic basis for investment decision making or supporting clients in understanding the opportunities and risks associated with business change or investment.The focus for theCommercial Advisor and Senior Commercial Advisoris to develop robust business cases based on well-articulated investment drivers, robust economic evaluation and options assessments. The objective is to support client investment decisions across all phases of the business lifecycle. These positions will also be involved in delivering Transaction Due Diligence. GHD work with a number of investor organisations such as Barclays, Santander, Marubeni, Octopus Energy etc. to provide technical advice on energy investments. The Senior Commercial Advisor ideally has some experience in the transaction market and understands the investment cycle process. Both roleswill work closely with the Origination Leader EMEA, the EMEA Sustainability, Resilience and ESG Leader, GHD Market Leaders, and broader GHD business to successfully deliver consulting engagements across private and public sector.The positions are London based but exceptions may be considered under certain circumstances.GHDhave experienced growth in demand for ‘future energy’ projects. Our existing advisory team in EMEA have been involved in a number of exciting projects in 2022/23:GHD have performed Due Diligence on green hydrogen technology and green hydrogen projects.GHD led the development of the UAE’s national hydrogen strategy.GHD are supporting major project developers in the UK on the first Hydrogen Business Model projects that have been allocated from both a technical and commercial perspective.GHD have delivered a number of green hydrogen concept studies and feasibility studies across Africa, Middle East and Europe.This is the type of work GHD are looking to recruit into. If this sounds like something you may be interested in please get in touch.Responsibilities:Project management and support roles focused on GHDs Commercial Advisory services, carrying out consulting engagement tasks of appropriate scope and complexity.Supporting the Advisory strategic growth plan to explain and increase market penetration through development of proposals and proactive propositions that deliver value to clients.Produce proposals in area of specialty and secure a pipeline of work under the direction of the EMEA Origination Leader.Promote relationships with existing and potential clients.For the Senior Advisor, increase business by improving client relationships and strengthening repeat business through exceptional client service.For the Senior Advisor, act as spokesperson and champion Advisory Services internally across the GHD business and externally with clients.Experience and Skill Requirements:2+ years’ experience in consulting for Advisor position5+ for Senior AdvisorExperience or an interest in the future energy landscape. Hydrogen, wind energy, solar energy, and in general decarbonisation pathwaysBachelor’s and/or Master's degree in business management, economics, engineering or other related topicsTheoretical knowledge and practical experience of investment (business) case development and applications, strategic needs/options analyses and benefits/value for money definition and evaluationApplied knowledge and understanding of economic evaluation guidelines, cost benefit analyses and economic impact analysisExperience in the evaluation and prioritisation of infrastructure programmes and projectsFacilitation, influencing and communication skills with the ability to shape people's thinking and the confidence to leadConfidence in presenting to mid-to-high level executive audiences and facilitating complex working sessions with both internal and client teamsAbility to interact effectively with a diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter expertsAbout UsWhy GHD?Being the best we can be is in our culture.We are a family of smart, innovative and creative problem solvers.
