We are Compre,a leading legacy specialist with over 30 years of experience in the acquisition and management of discontinued and legacy non-life insurance and reinsurance business.
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Actuarial Analyst, responsible for providing actuarial support across our Group portfolios.
Reporting to our Reserving Manager, you will play a key role in the assessments of the Group's best estimate reserves, to include the reserving assessment for the Group's risk carriers, working closely with our Lloyd's managing agent as part of the Group's syndicate reserves.
Alongside performing quarterly reserving reviews, this role will be pivotal in the delivery of a technology-driven transformation of Compre's reserving and reporting function in 2024-25. You will work closely with the Group's wider teams, aiding our growth and the demand for actuarial support across the business.
Responsibilities• Production of reserving assessments across the group, and quarterly reserving papers for the boards of regulated entities, including the presentation of results for board meetings. • To work closely with the Claims and Finance teams as part of the quarterly reserving submissions, to include day to day interactions with the claims team to improve the overall group reserving position.• Collaborating with the Data & Analytics team to drive the use of technology to create efficiencies and additional insights for the business within the reserving process.• Contribute to the drafting of broader group board and shareholder papers, including the production of the group and risk carrier NTAV position.• Working with the wider business in relation to the onboarding and integration of new acquisitions into the quarterly reserving processes.• Manage and support the annual audit process for the group and risk carriers.• Supporting the team and wider business through one-off process improvement projects, working together with external parties and Compre's Change team.
Candidate requirements• Nearly qualified or qualified actuary with 3+ years' experience in the non-life insurance/reinsurance sectors. We are also open to someone who is not looking to qualify or pursue further exams, providing you possess the relevant experience.• Strong report drafting and communication skills are essential, with good attention to detail, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and build strong relationships, working effectively with a number of teams across the business.• Good organisation and time management skills, able to manage different and moving priorities, and diligently take ownership of multiple workstreams.• You will be personable and a strong team player, who supports the coaching and career development of other members of the group reserving team.• Be forward-looking, flexible and able to adapt to being part of a growing business, including leading the onboarding and integration of new portfolios into the reserving process.• Strong commercial awareness to understand the impact of key business decisions on the financial position.• Excellent IT skills including a high proficiency in Excel, and proficiency in ResQ would be a bonus.• Experience of working in the Lloyd's market would be preferred but is not essential.• Fitting in with our culture and values.
