This Senior Actuarial Analyst role is mixed with a focus on Reserving and Capital. It’s a great role for someone who would like to take on more responsibility and learn these processes from start to finish. There is continuous communication with all areas of the business as well as senior management. The individual will be reporting to the Technical Actuary and will have a few years’ experience in the general insurance market.Location: London/HybridCategory: Non-life ActuarialType: PermanentKey duties (including, but not limited to):Underwriting and claims analysis; detailed analysis of both premiums and claims data to identify emerging trends in the development of each year of accountReserving; assist in the establishment of a new reserving regime within the company, using actuarial reserving models and methodsLloyd’s reporting; responsibility for the new combined benchmark pricing and PMDR system, including validating underwriter inputs, enhancing the systems functionality and analysing the outputs of the systemInternal model; the company has developed an internal calculation kernel in consultation with external consultants for Solvency II and other capital modelling purposesCat modelling; although this is not a cat modelling position per-se the Senior Actuarial Analyst will be expected to understand this vital area with the business as it feeds into many other analytical processes, in particular the calculation kernelTechnical – understanding of insurance risk, capital modelling and statisticsEmployment policies – understanding of all statutory employment policies and proceduresCompany Policies – understanding of all company/compliance policies and proceduresRegulatory / Reporting – understanding of FSA rules and guidelines and regulatory requirements in operation at any time (e.g. Lloyd’s and Companies Acts, DPA, anti-money laundering)Risk Management – understanding of risk management, including risk evaluation, measurement, mitigation and review
