Senior Accountant

I’m delighted to be supporting a Services based business with the recruitment of a Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. With a modern approach and big plans for growth and investment, my client is in an enviable position in the local market.

We’re looking for someone who either has experience as a Financial or Management Accountant and looking to develop or has trained within practice and seeking a move into commerce.

The role

As Senior Accountant your role will be to:

• To deliver the financial reporting requirements and UK tax compliance for a range of complex client structures.
• Helping to develop an internal Centre of Excellence for the wider Group and promoting a positive image with external clients.
• To assist with the supervision, management and development of a team of accountants
• To maintain and enhance client relationships on own portfolio.
• To deputise for the Manager during absence, and to support them when required to fulfil the team’s roles and responsibilities.

About you

• You’ll hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA) and ideally have experience of developing and coaching others.
• This role would suit someone who either has experience as a Financial or Management Accountant and looking to develop or has trained within practice and seeking a move into commerce.
• Experience of producing financial statements, management accounts and preparation of VAT returns is preferred.
• Experience in effective communication with clients with good rapport building skills is essential.
• A good knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP and a good understanding of other appropriate accounting standards is also required.
• As an individual you’ll offer strong accounting skills, be a flexible, team player who has a desire to support and develop others and a keenness to progress.
