Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant required. Our client is a well-established chartered accountancy firm based in West Sussex. Due to recent expansion and new clients coming on-board, our client is looking for an experienced senior accountant to join their dynamic team to help manage a portfolio of clients. The role is a hybrid role, meaning some days will be working at home and some working in the office.

The Senior Accountant will be required to:

• To prepare management accounts on behalf of clients and maintain client's bookkeeping records where necessary, using a variety of preparatory software
• To prepare financial statements and tax computations for companies and unincorporated businesses, partnerships and sole traders in accordance with the Firm's systems, relevant legislation and Financial Reporting Standards
• To carry out administrative duties as necessary including assisting with setting up new clients and billing of affairs
• To provide information on self-assessment, P11ds and other taxation matters to the tax team and other team members as required, or where appropriate, to prepare self-assessment returns for review by the Tax team
• To organise with clients when work is to be done and scheduling into the office work plan accordingly, whilst aiming to achieve the Firm's policy of turning work around as quickly as possible

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience working in a practice environment. Candidates are not required to be fully-qualified, we will accept candidates still studying towards ACA/ACCA/AAT. Client will also accept qualified by experience candidates.

The successful candidate will be supporting the Managers and Directors assisting with managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring that agreed service levels are met on time and in budget. To support the Managers and Directors in training and developing the individual members of the team. To help move the business forward by recognising other services and performance opportunities of value to clients and opportunities to acquire new ones.

Suitable candidate will have experience using Xero, Iris, Sage and Quickbooks.

Senior Accountant Position Requirements:

• Must have 3+ years working in an accountancy practice
• Candidates will have experience using Xero, Iris, Sage and Quickbooks
• Be confident speaking to clients over the phone, through email and face-to-face
• Be able to work from home effectively
• Ensure client accounts are always kept up to date

Senior Accountant Position Remuneration

• �32,000 basic salary
• 20 days holiday + bank holidays
