that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST .The VacancyKey Internal Relationships:International & wider Construction TeamPRO / Mphasis (Processing Team)IBA / Credit ControlClaims TeamKey External Relationships:Underwriters (London and Overseas)Overseas Retail & Wholesale BrokersDirect clientsPurpose of the Role:The purpose of this role is to place insurance risks into Lloyd’s and the London and International insurance markets on the best available terms and conditions with secure and reputable underwriters/insurance companies.The Senior Account Handler assists in the preparation and placing of insurance risks into the Lloyd’s, London and overseas insurance and reinsurance markets by organising and providing up-to-date documentary information and delivering effective technical, processing and marketing services to our client.Key Role Accountabilities:Collate complete, accurate and meaningful information for underwriters;Help to develop a successful marketing strategy for any given risk;Maintain and build on existing relationships with underwriters;Develop and foster relationships with clients to attract new business and retain existing clientsNegotiate with underwriters on behalf of the client;Apply knowledge of specific markets capacity/services available from them and identify potential new/alternative marketsContribute to business development with recommendations during marketing and renewal meetings.Research, co-ordinate and resolve market/client issues in proactive and timely fashion;Produce high quality documentation, including slips and policy information efficiently;Prepare invoice processing requestsCommunicate with the credit control team regarding payment queriesControl the production of new policy, renewal and mid-term documentation;Maintain up to date policy and client records;Provide and gather information to and from Underwriters, Brokers, Technical Staff and Business Producers as required;Provide pro-active service to ensure the efficient day to day handling of client requirementsProduce statistical information/reports as required;Manage and undertake assigned project work to time scales as directed.The above list of responsibilities is not exclusive or exhaustive and the job holder may be required to undertake such tasks as reasonably expected within the scope of the role.Qualifications & Experience:Experience drafting slips and endorsements (essential)5+ years experience of the London Insurance Market (essential)ACII or equivalent professional qualification (not essential)3+ years working on Construction classes of business (preferable)Previous broking experience (not essential)Working knowledge of Global XB system (preferable)Knowledge of Microsoft systems Word, Excel & Powerpoint (essential)Knowledge of various online placing systems – PPL, Whitespace (preferable)Knowledge of Sanction Requirements (preferable)Person Specification:Ability to show initiativeAbility to work as part as a team, but also the ability to self motivate when working aloneAbility to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines in a fast paced environmentAbility to build and maintain profitable long-term relationships with clients and colleaguesWillingness to follow procedures in full and not to take short cuts, even when under time pressuresStrong negotiation, influencing skills, analytical, verbal and written communication skillsConfidence when dealing with external and internal communicationThe CompanyArdonagh Specialty Holdings Ltd incorporates Bishopsgate Insurance Brokers Ltd, Price Forbes & Partners Ltd, Ed Broking, Besso and Piiq.
