This person should then be able to execute with a high degree of success in integrating and/or solving problems in environments rich in Windows Server, Exchange, IIS, Cisco Internetworking, VPN's, firewalls, backup systems and more.Location: Finchley, N3, with a hybrid working option of up to 3 days working from homeHours: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 6.00 pmResponsibilities for the 2nd Line Support Engineer:IT Support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications and operating systemsTechnical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and securityRemote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and CitrixMonitor the remote monitoring and management system alerts and notifications, and respond accordingly through service ticketsSystem documentation maintenance and review in ConnectWise and IT GlueConfiguration of standard email clients including OutlookInstallation, configuration, troubleshooting and customization of Microsoft Office Suite applications per customer's preferencesUnderstanding of and ability to install, configure and test workstation hardware including video cards, NICs, sound cards, hard drives, and mobile devicesNetwork Server - Experience preferred with Windows Server and Microsoft 365Configure file, print and remote access servicesAdministration, including add/remove users and groups, configure file permissions, check event logs, configure and restore from backupAdministration of enterprise email applications, including add/remove users and group, configure folder permissions if applicable, forward mail to other accounts, and add aliasesTo be successful, you will need to hold experience within the following areas:Recent experience of working in an MSP (IT Support Company) is an essentialMicrosoft Operating Systems, Desktop and Server (including Small Business Server)Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, Hyper-V, Office 365Experience with macOS desktop operating systemsExcellent Microsoft Office application knowledgeExperience required with mobile device operating systemsExperience with fundamentals of cyber securityUnderstanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivityExperience with routers and firewallsExperience with RDP, RDS, & CitrixUnderstanding of relationship between switches, access points, patch panels, and connectingnodes to a networkUnderstanding of DNS servicesWorking Knowledge of non-Cisco Firewall TechnologiesWorking Knowledge of Wireless TechnologiesDo you have the required technical knowledge & experience?Engineer with 5 years MSP experienceMinimum 4 years' experience in the following:- Office 365/Microsoft 365- Switching, VLAN, Routing, Firewall Support- Mobile Device and Messaging Technology Support- Server Hardware Technologies (CPU/RAID/SCSI) Support- Data Backup and Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus Support, VPN Connectivity SupportCreate a job alert and receive personalised job recommendations straight to your inbox.
