Purple Mango Education have partnered with an exceptional school in Exeter that are looking for learning mentors to support the growth of their setting. The school is a specialist education provision that works with young people who are not currently accessing mainstream or special school provision.
The setting provides a trauma informed approach to all of their young people ensuring that learning is tailored to them as individuals. �



They are looking for learning mentors to support their growth on the back of their ongoing success.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Provide tailored support to students, nurturing their academic, emotional, and social development.

  • Collaborate closely with teachers and other support staff to implement individualised learning plans and strategies.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered.

  • Utilise a variety of creative and engaging techniques to facilitate learning and promote student progress.

  • Offer guidance and encouragement to students facing challenges, empowering them to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.



Required Skills and Qualifications:




  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in a school setting or similar environment.

  • A genuine passion for supporting the unique needs of students with diverse learning requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.

  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in the face of challenges, with a proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.

  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, special education, psychology, or related fields are highly desirable.
