Good Afternoon,I am currently representing West Sussex Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate of £438.77 per day which is negotiable dependent upon experience.We are looking for a SEND Improvement Lead this role will be: PO19 1RG (Hybrid)The right candidate will:
* Knowledge and understanding of SEND at a senior leadership level. preferably within a local authority.
* They need to understand the DfE SEND & AP Change Programme and the DfE Delivering Better Value Framework.
* Experience of leading SEND improvement is also going to be key.
* The key function of this role is to lead the change programme required in response to the government's 'SEND and Alternative Provision (AP) Implementation Plan' and improve the provision and support available for children and young people locally.
* Co-design and produce plans and services with parent carers and children and young people.
* You will be responsible for working with staff, schools, internal and external partners to deliver this element of our education services.We require the following:
* Subject matter expertise in the leadership of SEND & inclusion at a local authority level.
* Understanding of the DfE SEND & Alternative Provision Change Programme and the DfE Delivering Better Value programme.
* Self-motivated, highly organised, and passionate about inclusion and outcomes for children and young people.
* Ability to influence stakeholders and create innovative and creative strategies to make improvements to service delivery.
* Displays confidence and resilience in dealing with ambiguity, conflict, complexity, and change.
* Ability to lead, manage and motivate teams of specialist staff and create a culture of best practice, self-evaluation and development.
* Experience of leading on SEND in a school, college or local authority local authority, including the associated management of resources.
