We are seeking a dedicated psychology graduate to join our team as a SENDhelp teaching assistant. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive mental health and well being among our students. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in a school setting while making a difference in the lives of young people.

Responsibilities for a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide individual and group support to students facing challenges related to mental health, behaviour, or emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop personalised intervention plans for students with specific needs.
  • Deliver workshops and presentations on topics such as stress management, resilience, and social-emotional skills.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths and areas for growth.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss student progress and coordinate support strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field (master's degree preferred).
  • Knowledge of developmental psychology, counselling techniques, and behaviours management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and equity within the school community.
