Overview:



Creative Teachers are hiring a SEN Teaching Assistant to work at an SEN School based in the New Forest. We also have positions available in and around Southampton.



The school are looking for Special Education Needs Teaching Assistants to work full-time on a long-term basis.



The roles require staff to be flexible, open-minded and willing to step into different classrooms and be that extra pair of hands in school.



The school look for people that are compassionate, empathetic and understanding. They look for the right type of character and not always the most relevant experience on paper.



Those that work or have worked with others that have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, those that are vulnerable or not independent usually possess a skillset and mentality that the school look for. If you have similar experience, I would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities

- Provide individualized attention and support to students

- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members

- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment

- Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies

- Support students with daily tasks, including personal care if needed

- Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly

- Maintain accurate records of student performance and behaviour



Qualifications:

- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting

- Knowledge of special education principles and practices is a plus

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with children

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment
