I'm currently recruiting for an AMAZING Special Needs School, based in Hailsham, East Sussex. We're looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team to offer innovative support to their students on the Autism Spectrum and those with Complex Needs. The students are aged between 5 - 16.

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant (Special Education Needs)
Location: Hailsham, East Sussex
Salary: Up to £25,000
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday - Term time only


Duties of the Role;

  • Understand the individual needs of all students with whom you work.
  • To deliver planned learning effectively to ensure that students have the opportunity to achieve their individual targets.
  • To use high quality strategies that keep students engaged through effective questioning, lively presentation and good use of resources.
  • To work as part of a team to maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment that supports the students.
  • Whilst taking account of the needs of individual students, set high expectations for students behaviour.
  • Support and intervene with Challenging Behaviour, according to the school policy.
  • To log all incidents of inappropriate behaviour using the school's agreed system.
  • To Supervise a class if the teacher is temporarily unavailable.


Requirements of the Role;

  • Previous experience in the Education and Training sector supporting children with SEN/Autism/Complex Needs is preferable
  • Passion and drive are crucial - you must have the right attitude!
  • You must be over the age of 21 to work with children
  • You must be a driver with access to your own vehicle, due to the rural location
  • You must be able to commit to the hours required, on a Monday to Friday basis
