Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs)



Location: Havering, London



Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time



Salary: �75-�90 per day

Responsibilities:




  • Assist and support students with special educational needs, ensuring their well-being, engagement, and progress.

  • Work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.

  • Provide one-on-one support and group support, adapting teaching methods and resources as needed.

  • Promote a positive learning environment, encouraging students' social and emotional development.

  • Assist with personal care tasks, including toileting, feeding, and mobility, as required.

  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to maintain effective communication and support the students' overall development.

  • Monitor and record students' progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education.



Requirements:




  • Relevant experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably within a school setting.

  • Understanding of various learning difficulties and disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties.

  • Knowledge of relevant teaching strategies and techniques for supporting students with special educational needs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

  • Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs and challenges of students.

  • Flexibility to work as part of a team and independently, depending on the situation.



Preferred Qualifications:




  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

  • Additional training or qualifications in special education or related fields.
