Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs)

Responsibilities:
- Assist and support students with special educational needs, ensuring their well-being, engagement, and progress.
- Work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Provide one-on-one support and group support, adapting teaching methods and resources as needed.
- Promote a positive learning environment, encouraging students' social and emotional development.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including toileting, feeding, and mobility, as required.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to maintain effective communication and support the students' overall development.
- Monitor and record students' progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably within a school setting.
- Understanding of various learning difficulties and disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties.
- Knowledge of relevant teaching strategies and techniques for supporting students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs and challenges of students.
- Flexibility to work as part of a team and independently, depending on the situation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Additional training or qualifications in special education or related fields.
