SEN Teaching Assistant

This Autism Secondary Teaching Assistant/ ASD Specialism TA role may be your next step in helping children with autism is based in Westminster.

Your main responsibility as Autism Secondary Teaching Assistant will be to work in groups and 1:1 with secondary aged children with low to high functioning autism; developing communication skills, supporting progression and independence through sensory play/ learning and various specialised curriculum and resources.

What are we looking for?

• Aspiring Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers
• A Passion for working with children with autism
• Ideally previous experience supporting children with autism in any environment; personal, education or care
• Personable and caring personality

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for the enrichment of special needs children's education, tasked with enhancing the school experience of the young people at this school. This is a great opportunity in a growing establishment with excellent support to build experience working amongst young people with autism
