Vetro Education is seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated SEN Teachers to work in SEN Schools in Merthyr. The schools support learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder and challenging behaviour and Vetro Education are looking for SEN Teachers in or around Merthyr who are experienced in any of these fields.

Overview:


  • Title: SEN Teacher

  • Pay: £157.66 per day minimum

  • Location: Merthyr Tydfil

  • Hours: Ad Hoc, Short Term and Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a SEN Teacher


  • Lead a classroom of learners with ASD, PDA, Global delay Disorder or Challenging Behaviour

  • Welcome learners at the start of the day

  • Preparing the classroom for lessons and planning work where required

  • Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs on occasions

  • Deliver lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Assist learners at break time with their lunch where required

  • Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities

  • Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies


The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a SEN Teacher


  • At least 1 year of teaching experience (exceptions made for NQTs) - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent

  • Registration as a Teacher with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this

  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)

  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one

  • The right to work in the UK
