**Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (PMLD, SLD & ASD)

**Location: Orpington

**Job Type: 5 day a week temp to perm

**Daily Rate: £84 - £100

SEND School located in Orpington is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant (SEN TA).  This is a temp to perm 5 day contract to start straight away!

The successful SEN TA will provide essential support to primary aged pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The role involves working 1:1 with students, supporting their educational, personal care, and developmental needs as outlined in their Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).


  • As an SEN TA, you will provide 1:1 support to students with complex needs, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assist in the implementation of EHCPs, adapting activities to meet each student's needs.
  • Support students with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene.
  • Facilitate the development of social skills and encourage positive interactions among students.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver individualized learning plans.
  • Use specialized equipment and techniques to support students with PMLD and SLD.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Encourage and motivate students to engage in learning activities.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a SEND school or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of ASD, PMLD, SLD, and other complex needs.
  • Experience in implementing EHCPs and working 1:1 with students.
  • Proficiency in providing personal care support to children with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • You have an enhanced DBS or able to pay for a new one ASAP
  • You live in easy commutable distance to Orpington
