SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

***1-2-1 and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs.

The Graduate:
As an SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will have at least a bachelor’s degree- preferably in psychology, or a related field. You will also have a genuine passion for the education of SEN KS1 and KS2 pupils and a dedication to their wellbeing, as well as some understanding of special educational needs. A warm, friendly personality and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff is essential.

The Role:

Providing 1:1 support to pupils with educational needs in a classroom setting.
Monitoring the progress of pupils to identify any additional support needs.
Assisting teaching staff in adapting lesson plans and learning materials to suit the needs of individual pupils.
Building strong bonds with staff and pupils to create a productive and positive learning environment.

This ‘Good’ primary school aims to provide an environment in the school where all children can access a broad and balanced education and achieve their full potential. Staff ensure that pupils are given the appropriate learning opportunities and that a range of provisions are put in place to engage pupils in a full range of activities and to overcome barriers to their learning. The senior leadership team are searching for an SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant who will aid in raising the attainment levels of special needs pupils and encourage them to achieve their maximum potential.
