Pay Rate: £250 - £280 per day

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 36 hours per week

Main Duties of the SEN Case officer:


  • Responsible for the development and upkeep of Education Health and Care Plans, overseeing the entire process from initial application to annual review.
  • Collaborate closely with families of children with Special Needs and Disabilities in a highly person-centred manner. Coordinate service provision across education, health, and care sectors to create comprehensive delivery plans for each individual child and family.
  • Work in partnership with families, schools, and key partner agencies to address the unique needs of children and young people with SEND. Ensure they receive appropriate education and provision aligned with their holistic requirements.
  • Foster collaboration with educational settings and relevant practitioners to support, advise, and monitor the local offer. Provide assistance to schools on individual cases as necessary.
  • Ensure that the production of plans and the experiences of families, carers, children, and young people are of high quality.
  • Adopt a reflective approach to practice, aiming for continuous improvement.
  • Utilise data and feedback to drive enhancements in quality.
  • Operate within a graduated response and continuum of need framework, employing a team around the child approach.
  • Prioritise timeliness of planning, quality of assessments and plans, and the effectiveness of annual reviews as key indicators of success.

 Requirements of the SEN Case officer:


  • Extensive experience working with vulnerable children and young individuals, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Role requires valid DBS check.
