Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic English teacher with experience in working with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a passionate SEMH English Teacher to join our team and contribute to the academic and personal development of Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) students. There are multiple SEMH Teaching assistant vacancies across south east London. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in a supportive SEMH secondary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons for KS3 and KS4 students with SEMH needs, including Functional Skills and GCSE curriculum.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social and emotional well-being of students.
  • Tailor teaching approaches to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of SEMH students, fostering a love for English and literacy.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, behaviour support staff, and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to student development.
  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods to address individual needs.
  • Contribute to Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings and liaise with parents, guardians, and external agencies as necessary.
