Job Title: SEMH LSA (8:30am – 4:15pm)

Location: London Borough of Greenwich (Contract)

Where: SEMH Provision ( KS3 – KS5)

Start: Immediately

Daily Rate: £85 – 115 a day (depending on experience)

Currently recruiting for a skilled and experienced SEMH LSA to work with students in an SEMH Provision within the London Borough of Greenwich. The successful LSA (Learning Support Assistant) will be working on a contract basis, providing 1:1 & small group support to students with complex needs, including ASD, behaviour difficulties, and SEMH.  This Monday to Friday position is to start immediately!

This is an outstanding provision that is supportive and dedicated to its students and staff. Class sizes are small, typically between 5 – 8 children per class.  Each class has a minimum of 3 Behaviour LSAs as well as one SEN Teacher.


  • You have great experience working with children & young people diagnosed with either SEMH / ASD / behaviour difficulties / ODD / ADD and/or complex needs
  • You have knowledge of strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with SEMH and ASD
  • As an LSA, you have the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both oral and written)
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with complex needs
  • Supporting the classroom teacher in creating a positive learning environment
  • Developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEMH and ASD
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress, and providing feedback to the classroom teacher
  • Managing behaviour in the classroom and supporting students in developing their social skills
  • Liaising with parents and carers to ensure continuity of care and support
  • Attending training and professional development sessions as required
  • In date DBS on the update service or able to pay for a new one ASAP
  • You live in easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich.
