Security Architect

Cloud Security Architect | Contract | Long-term | Hybrid
I am currently hiring for a Security Architect within the Mortgages domain, it is a long-term project based in either London or Swindon, on a hybrid basis.
Security Architect - AWS
London or Swindon - Hybrid
Initial 6 months
Rate: Up to 500 a day, Inside IR35
Key responsibilities:
Collaborate with development and operations teams to secure AWS workloads.
Implement best practices for securing Amazon EC2 instances, Amazon RDS databases, and other AWS services.
Design and configure Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environments.
Set up Network Access Control Lists (NACLs) to control inbound and outbound traffic and apply subnetting principles for secure network segmentation.
Implement client-side encryption for data stored in Amazon S3 buckets.
Ensure data at rest and data in transit are encrypted using appropriate mechanisms.
Produce Detailed Threat models after reviewing technical design documents.
Design and implement authentication mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, JWT) for APIs and services.
Key skills:
Should have proven experience as a Security Architect working in a large, complex organization. Ideally, this experience would be within a financially regulated enterprise (e.g., PCI compliance).
Previous relevant experience in working with VPC, NACLs, and subnetting.
Familiarity with client-side S3 encryption.
Be able to understand and assess the security elements of technical designs / solutions and have a proven ability to constructively challenge to deliver better business and security outcomes;
Good knowledge of cryptography
