Overview: Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and dynamic General Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant Secondary School in Luton, Bedfordshire. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months of UK education experience and a passion for supporting the learning and development of secondary school students. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of education in the absence of regular teaching staff, ensuring a positive and conducive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cover Supervision:
    • Assume responsibility for supervising classes during the short-term absence of regular teaching staff.
    • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and materials, maintaining continuity in students' learning.
    • Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering a positive and respectful learning environment.
  2. Student Engagement and Support:
    • Engage students in the learning process, providing assistance and support as needed.
    • Respond to student queries and concerns, promoting a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
    • Encourage student participation and involvement in classroom activities and discussions.
  3. Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records of attendance and behavior, reporting any issues to appropriate school personnel.
    • Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and materials as required.
    • Collaborate with teaching staff and school administrators to ensure smooth operation of daily activities.
  4. Professional Development:
    • Participate in training and professional development opportunities provided by the school or employer.
    • Stay updated on educational best practices and school policies relevant to the role.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and personal growth in the field of education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working within the UK education system, preferably in a secondary school setting.
