School: Secondary Academy, Southwark, Southeast London

Annual Salary: Enhanced MPS/UPS inner London (£36,811 - £57,018) + TLR 2B (£5,632)

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Start date: September 2024

Aston Education is working with an 11-18 secondary school in Southwark, Southeast London (inner London), looking for a permanent Second in charge of Science to start in September 2024.

This is a growing school with years 7-11 now on roll and Sixth Form opening in September 2024. They have state-of-the-art facilities and excellent transport links in zone 1.

As a Second in charge of Science, you’ll support the Head of Science in overseeing the delivery of high-quality, engaging Science education across key stages 3, 4 and 5. You’ll plan and deliver outstanding lessons and inspire and motivate students of all abilities to achieve their full potential.

The Science department uses adaptive teaching strategies and multiple representations to drive the understanding of their students.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of the Science curriculum and a passion for sharing your knowledge with others. You will need to be an excellent communicator with QTS/QTLS.
