Scientific Operations Manager
Salary: £DoE + Excellent Benefits package (including improved pension and equity)
Location: London
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
Develop and implement operational strategies to streamline processes and maximize productivity.
Oversee day-to-day operations, including managing scientists, supply chain, and resource allocation.
Implement best practices and SOPs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry protocols.
Work with the team on grant and funding submissions.
Project Management:
Coordinate with research and development teams to align operational activities with project milestones and objectives.
Track project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
Team Management:
Provide leadership and guidance to a team of scientists and molecular biologists, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional development initiatives for team members.
Encourage a positive work environment that values innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
A MSc or PhD in a scientific discipline, preferably in molecular biology, cell biology, Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in operations management within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role.
Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading complex projects from inception to completion.
Proficiency in implementing quality management systems and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced, rapidly evolving startup environment and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
