About the Role:
- As a Science Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the teaching and learning of science subjects within the school.
- You will be responsible for preparing materials, setting up equipment, and ensuring the smooth running of practical experiments and demonstrations.
- Collaborate closely with science teachers to enhance the educational experience of students and contribute to the overall success of the science department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and resources for practical lessons across all science disciplines.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging practical sessions, ensuring health and safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
- Manage inventory and ordering of supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels for practical activities.
- Contribute to the development of innovative teaching resources and experiments to enrich the science curriculum.
- Provide technical support during examinations and assessments, including the setup and invigilation of practical examinations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a school or educational setting is essential.
- A passion for science and a commitment to fostering enthusiasm for the subject among students.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
