Tradewind are recruiting for a Science Technician to work at one of our client secondary schools based in St. Helens. This is a full-time, long-term position due to start ASAP with the expected duration being until the end of the academic year in July. Our client school are seeking an enthusiastic Science Technician who can integrate themselves quickly as part of the Science department, taking responsibility for preparing practical lessons. A strong knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety is essential for this role. Pay is up to �100.00 per day.

The successful candidate will be joining a school with state-of-the-art facilities for Science. Fortunate to secure a rebuild during the Building Schools for the Future project, our client schools is building on its considerable strengths to become the best school it can possibly be for the young people and community it serves.

The successful Science Technician will be joining a department who aim to provide pupils with the knowledge and skills to become confident citizens in a technological world so that they may develop an interest in the matters of scientific importance and be suitably prepared for Higher Education courses/ vocational courses in Science.

To be considered for this Science Technician position in St. Helens the following is required:

• Experience as a Science Technician in a school (desirable)
• Science related degree (essential)
• Experience working with children aged 11-16 (desirable)
• A good understanding of COSHH and Health and Safety requirements (essential)
• Enhanced Child workforce DBS on the update service or be prepared to undertake a new one (essential)
• Full and complete career history (essential)
• Minimum of 2 references including your most recent employment reference (essential)
• Legal right to work in the UK (essential)
