General Science Teacher with Experience to Key Stage 5 Required - Apply Today!

  • Location: Horsham
  • Contract: 1 year, starting in the Summer term, 2024
  • Qualifications: QTS

A renowned school in Horsham is seeking an experienced General Science Teacher for a short term contract starting in the Summer Term. The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching Science at Key Stage 5.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons to students in Key Stage 5, covering various areas of science
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their potential in science subjects
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies across the science curriculum
  • Attend and contribute to departmental meetings and professional development opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievement, and progress in science subjects
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress in science education
  • Uphold the school's policies and procedures, including those related to behaviour management and safeguarding in science classrooms

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 5
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential in science
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in explaining complex scientific concepts
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to effectively plan and deliver lessons across the science curriculum
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to enhance the science education experience for students
  • Knowledge of current educational practices and initiatives in science education
