Job Description:



We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher with experience or an interest in SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) to join our team in Windlesham. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Science to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students who require additional support with their social, emotional, and mental well-being.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Plan, deliver, and assess tailored Science lessons to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH requirements.

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional well-being.

  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to develop and implement personalised Science learning plans.

  • Monitor and track the progress of students in Science, providing regular feedback to both students and parents or guardians.

  • Work closely with external agencies and professionals to support the holistic development of students in Science.

  • Foster positive relationships with students, establishing trust and promoting their social and emotional growth within the context of Science education.



Requirements:




  • QTS/QTLS or possess a Certificate in Education

  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable, especially in the context of Science education.

  • Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and strategies to support students effectively, particularly in the realm of Science.

  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students in Science.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in Science education.
