The Role
The Senior Engineer with significant experience on SCADA configuration, maintenance and expertise with SCADA analysis will work on Functional testing of the Product of Electricity system Operator. ESO operates a number of critical services and is going through a major transformation program updating and relocation these services into a new dedicated, secure Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) data Centre, this role will lead various workstreams to test and provide detailed report of each functionality testing in support of the line of business services in on-prem CNI Environment.
The successful candidate will be a lead Functional and integration testing and support server & storage, network, and security features within the Team, and liaise with stakeholders from Group server & storage, network and security components as well as CNI operations and line of business delivery teams.
Key responsibilities:
Test functionality of each feature of this SCADA System to meet functional and non-functional and integration requirements.
Perform options analyses against emerging technology standards and business strategies.
Ensure Test reports are created within the Team are created and reviewed to a high standard.
Provide guidance and support to Team members and ensure adherence to architectural
standards/principles,
global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards and other forms of good practice!
Provide guidance and support to line of business projects requiring deployment in the CNI Data Centre
Establish and maintain framework for continuous engagement with stakeholders.
Identify, communicate, and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Decisions throughout a full lifecycle!
Your Profile
Key
skills/knowledge/experience:
Good Years of significance experience of SCADA configuration and maintenance.
Experience of Power System Operators (Control Room Staff).
Experts in Power System Analysis
Seasoned SCADA experience – Testing
Ability to understand the functional aspects of SCADA and support in Functional and Integration testing.
Ability to understand different protocols, interfaces, and integration layers.
Ability to understand Web Interfaces, API protocols etc.
Desirable if the candidate has got some experience with Cloud based systems – Kubernetes, microservices, containerization, VMs etc.
Significant experience of SCADA configuration and maintenance.
Experience of Power System Operators (Control Room Staff).
Excellent technical architecture skills, enabling the creation of future-proof, complex global solutions.
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills that are required to operate as a leading member of global, distributed teams that deliver quality services and solutions.
Ability to rapidly gain knowledge of the organizational model unique to National Grid and to facilitate work with groups outside of the immediate technical team.
Knowledge and experience in IT methodologies and life cycles that will be used.
Familiar with solution
implementation/management,
service/operations management, etc.
