ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Due to continued growth of our UK market, we are currently seeking a
Sales Merchandiser
to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Sales Manager – UK & Ireland this role will play a pivotal role in maximising the visibility and sales of Steel Blue products across various retail channels across North England and Scotland. Your primary focus will be on enhancing brand presence through creative merchandising strategies and maintaining strong relationships with our retail partners. You will work closely with local sales and marketing teams across the UK and the Netherlands to implement strategies that boost sales and brand loyalty.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Retail Partner Support:
Collaborate with our retail partners to provide product training, merchandising support, and sales tools to their teams. Establish and maintain strong relationships with store managers and staff to drive sales and brand advocacy including escalating any issues to improve service delivery.
Merchandising Excellence:
Create eye-catching product displays that align with Steel Blue's brand guidelines and highlight the unique features of our safety footwear. Ensure optimal product placement and visual merchandising in retail stores to attract and engage customers.
Trade Shows and Events:
Plan and run trade days and events within branches to build brand awareness with the end users.
Sales Strategy Implementation:
Execute sales strategies including promoting sell through with existing distributors in alignment with company objectives and target markets. Identify opportunities for product expansion and promotions to boost sales and market share.
Inventory Management:
Effective stock management of point of sale and various merchandising items
Sales Planning:
Attend regular planning meetings and strategy session with the sales team.
ABOUT YOU
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced merchandiser, or someone with a strong retail background, to take the next step in their career and represent a growing global brand. The ideal candidate must have a “can-do” attitude with the determination to drive the brand forward.
The position will involve regular travelling and you will be expected to proactively plan your working week as well as collaborate with the team to be effective on your visits to customers.
To succeed in this role you will have:
Proven experience in sales and merchandising, preferably in the retail industry or related field.
Familiarity with the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) industry is a plus.
Hold a full and clean driving licence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
Results-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
Due to the location of our distribution network, ideally the successful candidate will be based in North East / North West England.
