Job Description
We will be celebrating SoGlos's 17-year anniversary by expanding the team to 17 this summer 2024 - and we are on the hunt for an outstanding individual to take on the brand-new,
pivotal role of sales manager
– responsible for driving new business revenue opportunities while leading and inspiring the sales team in our Partnerships Hub.
While we first advertised this vacancy back in January, we have been a busy bunch since then - with our recent SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards, reaching the finals in the AOP Digital Publishing Awards, appointing SoPublishing's new CEO and promoting senior team members and unveiling a new SoGlos Successes video series all just a few of the reasons, that our search for the perfect new team members hasn't been priority... About the role
You will be responsible for:
Proactively implementing and developing the commercial strategy – exploring, growing and creating new revenue streams and commercial opportunities
Leading the Partnerships Hub sales team – managing and guiding team members, driving team activity and ensuring the team sales target is met
Hitting an individual sales target – winning new business, crafting compelling advertising campaign proposals and delivering presentations
Developing and growing strong relationships with partners
Representing SoGlos and the Partnerships Hub externally and across the business – reporting directly to the managing director
About you
We are looking for someone who is / has:
An ambitious sales person, with experience working with metrics and hitting targets
Strategic and commercially astute, with sound business acumen
Experienced in inspiring and leading a sales team
Able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Confident and high energy, with a positive attitude
Able to remain calm under pressure, taking the initiative to find solutions to challenges
Great organisational skills, able to manage both individual and team sales activity
Good working knowledge of Gloucestershire across a range of sectors.
Strong local business contacts would be a great advantage
Ideally, experience in a similar sales role in the media, marketing, recruitment, technology, estate agency or professional services sector
Knowledge of advertising, sponsorship and event sales would also be an advantage
Proficient in embracing modern technologies – including CRMs, websites, social media platforms, Office 365 and SoGlos’s in-house proposal system
Salary and benefits
Starting salary of £35,000 to £38,000 plus commission.
OTE of £60,000 per annum, uncapped.
