Sales and Commercial Manager
West Bromwich

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7:15am to 4pm / Friday's off!
Salary is negotiable, up to �55k.

Are you looking for a new role as a Sales and Commercial Manager, looking to get on the road and meet new and existing clients to develop and grow the business forwards? My client is looking for someone who is commercially aware and has the relevant sales experience, preferably from an Aerospace or Metal background. I have an exciting opportunity to join my client who are based in West Bromwich, looking for someone with strong experience to join their team and hit the ground running. Company specific training will be given to the successful candidate.
Main responsibilities of the Sales and Commercial Manager:
  • To be responsible for setting the strategic sales and commercial direction.
  • To maintain existing market share and customer base.
  • To develop and seek other sales and commercial market opportunities both within UK and abroad.
  • To identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • Attend exhibitions in the UK and Europe, representing the company to build relationships and build brand awareness.
  • Coordinating with sales and technical staff to schedule appointments or demonstrations with potential clients.
  • Conducting market research to identify new opportunities for products or services.
  • Liaising with other colleagues to allocate sales resources to ensure all customers are visited on a regular basis.
  • Preparing proposals and contracts to help secure new business opportunities.
  • Meeting with clients to determine their needs and preferences and explaining products and services offered by the company.
  • Work with technical and production team members to ensure as a minimum all orders meet customer requirements and expectations.
  • Establishing relationships with suppliers to ensure that they have the latest information about products and services offered by the company.
  • Present sales, revenue and marketing reports and realistic forecasts to the senior management team.
  • Conducting market research to identify new opportunities for products or services.
  • To monitor and report customer feedback as part of company continuous improvement.
Requirements of the Sales and Commercial Manager:
  • Aerospace/ Chemistry background or similar experience in metal sales.
  • Good mentoring, coaching and people management skills.
  • Strong commercial and business background.
  • Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Good communication and negation skills both written and orally.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team player attitude, also able to work independently.
  • Good IT skills.
