We have an exciting new opportunity for a high-performing, enthusiastic individual looking for a rewarding career delivering excellence and supporting the development of our field sales operation in South Wales.
Playing a key role in Wynnstay’s commitment to help the farmer feed the UK in a more sustainable way, your primary objective will be to professionally represent Wynnstay, and effectively and profitably manage and develop field sales activity within your designated region, through co-ordination, leadership and day-to-day management of your sales team, in line with budgetary expectation.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Regional Business Manager – South Wales, your responsibilities as the Sales Manager will include:
Delivery of annual agreed targets for the territory, with emphasis placed on agricultural trading and service to farm
Profitably growing and developing regional sales activity
Managing and supporting the performance of the regional and field sales representatives
Managing the development of your team members
Providing technical support to representatives and customers within the region
Supporting regional annual budget production, projecting sales and determining profitability
Building and maintaining constructive and collaborative relationships with other key channels to maximise returns from Wynnstay trading activities
Monitoring customer and sales trends to guide strategy
Developing marketing and product management campaigns
Anticipating market trends, competitive threats, and commercial opportunities
Managing complaints
Managing credit targets
The Person:
The successful candidate will:
Have a broad understanding of the Agricultural industry, along with an affinity for the farmer customer
Demonstrate a proven track record in similar role or at the level of Sales Manager, preferably in an agricultural sales capacity
Possess sound commercial acumen, have experience of cost control and planning, prioritising and oganising work to meet targets
Be a lateral, innovative thinker, and problem-solver
Be a motivational team-leader focused on managing, supporting and developing the team to achieve their full potential
Have good knowledge of Sales/Marketing techniques, research and analysis
Be self-disciplined, with excellent time management skills, and flexible in order to achieve results
Possess good inter-personal skills and the ability to deal with people from diverse backgrounds
Be self-confident, decisive, resilient with the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast moving challenging environment.
