Sales Engineer is required for our client based in Stourbridge, West Midlands.
My client is a manufacturer primarily of�pressure vessels and filtration combined with related products. They are a leading supplier into the gas, oil and nuclear industries and are looking for a Sales/Proposals Engineer to join their team, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
The Sales Engineer will be an integral member of the team so ideally with will have varied experience in manufacturing and heavy industry. Ideally from within the Gas, Oil or Nuclear industries.
Job Role:
  • To receive and review sales enquiries.
  • To cost and prepare sales quotations for the company's products, as well as existing gas and liquid filtration products/services. This will involve design review, estimating, and tender preparation including completion of client documentation.
  • Carry-out necessary follow-up and liaison with global customers and agents to secure orders and provide excellent customer service.
  • To assist in the on-going continuous improvement, development, and consequent growth of the Company with respect to sales, marketing, and customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To receive and review Requests for Quotation (RFQ's) for the Companies products.
  • To determine an appropriate technical solution and decide upon suitable equipment to offer.
  • To obtain costs of materials, consumables, sub-contract work etc. necessary to prepare quotations.
  • To prepare quotations in accordance with the specified requirements, documentation and company polices.
  • To assist sales order administration, conduct contract reviews where necessary, and assist in project management when required.
  • To actively seek sales and market opportunities where possible.
  • To represent the company and visit customers when required for bid clarifications etc.
  • To carry out such additional duties as may become necessary from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the sales operation.
Skills and Experience:
  • Ideally from a mechanical or process engineering background with a working knowledge of pressure vessel related process equipment.
  • Computer literate and familiarisation of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access is required.
  • AutoCAD experience, and the ability to draw and read drawings would be advantageous.
  • Experience of the Oil and Gas market or related sector and the related specifications associated with the leading National Oil Companies (NOC's) and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors is desirable.
  • Experience of liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Experience of working within the nuclear industry would be a distinct advantage.
Hours of work: 8.30 am - 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30 am - 2 pm Friday.
Salary: �32k - �34k p/a
Holiday Entitlement: 21 days annual leave, plus statutory Bank holidays and Christmas shutdown
