An exciting opportunity to join an award-winning events team and work in an iconic London venue located in Regent’s Park, RCP London Events (Royal College of Physicians).
As a Sales and Marketing Executive, you will be an integral part of a busy team. Under the direction of the Events Marketing Manager, you will contribute to the delivery of all aspects of online and offline marketing, advertising and brand management to promote, develop and grow the external commercial conference and event business.
Your core responsibilities will be to support the management of the venue’s social media profiles, copywriting of newsletters, website management and brand management. You will assist in all aspects of marketing, sales and administration, database management and client liaison across all functions within the Meetings & Events facilities in order to meet revenue targets and to achieve overall departmental and RCP objectives.
Additionally, you will assist the venue’s Business Development Manager in implementing pre-agreed direct sales in order to maximise income by generating a robust pipeline of prospective business by re-engaging with past users and new leads to convert.
RCP London Events is housed within the Royal College of Physicians’ fifth home, a Grade I listed building overlooking Regent’s Park. The Meetings & Events team host over 350 events every year, including conferences, meetings, dinners and summer parties, and are passionate about sustainability. The revenue generated by events held at the RCP’s venues support the important
work the College does in promoting patient care.
Responsibilities include:
To support the Events Marketing Manager in the delivery of all marketing activity for RCP London Events within agreed budgets and to agreed targets in a way that builds awareness and optimises income generation.
To write copy for online marketing channels, including email marketing.
To undertake market research to feed into the annual marketing strategy.
To support the measurement and reporting of marketing effectiveness and ROI.
To support the management of the venue’s social media channels, taking responsibility for the social media calendar and running paid advertisements.
To support and champion the department’s brand and support training as necessary, cascading information to the wider department and ensuring that brand guidelines are adhered to across the department.
To assist with the design and production process for a broad range of marketing materials.
To assist with the maintenance of the department’s website and intranet.
Meeting your targets through carrying out of pre-agreed pro-active direct sales activities.
Maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities and forward activities for the team in the diary management system.
Developing and qualifying sales prospects, particularly targeting need periods.
Arranging client venue visits, providing hospitality and promoting the venue’s facilities to prospective external clients when required.
Attending networking and trade events as a representative of the RCP, as required and undertake additional duties as are reasonably expected appropriate with the level of the position.
Experience
Proven experience of coordinating marketing activity covering design, email, social media, direct mail and managing marketing communications plans, as well as copywriting and proofreading.
Demonstrable record of success in a marketing executive role.
Good knowledge of the Marketing mix and how it can be implemented.
Good knowledge of social media platforms, digital marketing and paid marketing, and experience using a variety of digital marketing platforms.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to prioritise your own workload and completing tasks with a high level of accuracy.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
A level qualification or equivalent relevant experience and the ability to demonstrate the level of skills and knowledge required for the role (GCSE or equivalent in English Language and Maths at Grade C or above).
Proving a high level of customer service to external clients
Previous experience of networking Accounts and developing business using telephone and face to face appointments
