Our business
Our Operator client are recruiting for a Safety Engineer to oversee FEED / EPC contractor in their London office, for a key LNG project in Papua New Guinea. Project comprises on & offshore development of well pads; upstream gathering network including flowlines & trunklines; Upstream Central Processing Facility; Onshore & offshore export pipeline system.

Key Responsibilities and background:
Supervising and coordinating the safety engineering activities performed by FEED / EPSCC contractors (Engineering document / drawings / calculation notes, technical reviews, liaise with other discipline specialists…),
Ensuring that the safety engineering activities are performed in compliance with regulations and company referential and within the agreed time schedule and cost,
Ensuring that Safety Studies (Detailed Risk Assessment, Quantitative Risk Assessment, ALARP workshop) are performed in compliance with company referential with support if needed,
Preparing the answers to the technical queries raised by the contractor,
Preparing the answers to the derogation requests raised by the Contractor and ensuring timely answers from Head Office experts with the support from the Lead Safety,
Providing support to challenge the FEED Contractors in the optimization exercise,
Providing support in your field of expertise (Safety Engineering, Risk Assessment, Process Safety) to the Lead Safety and Package Manager,
Participating in the Safety Reviews such as HAZOP, SIL…
Supporting the preparation and participating in Project Technical Reviews, providing answers and ensuring timely implementation of the findings in your discipline,
Ensuring proper reporting, highlighting critical issues to the Safety Lead and proposing remedial actions,
Assisting the company procurement team in the supervision of the procurement, inspection and tests during fabrication activities related to your discipline (during the EPC phase)
Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:
Significant experience in oil & gas project in a Technical Safety / Process Safety role.
Previous experience of management & oversight of FEED / EPC Contractors preferred.
Exposure to supporting international projects preferred.
