I am in the midst of transitioning my client's eCommerce store from Shopify to Solidus and require the expertise of a talented Contract/Freelance Ruby on Rails Developer. The storefront's front-end architecture is fully operational, with a primary focus on enhancing the backend. The project aims at introducing a suite of customisations to refine every aspect of the customer journey, ensuring an optimised and seamless shopping experience.As I strive to launch the basic Solidus platform promptly, the initial phase of the project is scheduled between now and June 2024. Post-launch, the developer will play a crucial role in expanding the platform's functionality through new features and gems, maintaining the existing system, and providing technical support to my growth marketing initiatives.Role RequirementsThe ideal candidate for this position would be a Full-Stack Developer with a preference towards backend development. Key qualifications include:Solidus Experience: The successful candidate must have either completed an actual Solidus store that has gone live, is in the process of building a store for a client that they can showcase, or have built a test store for themselves to practice creating Solidus stores that they can showcase.Test-Driven Development (TDD): Must possess a strong understanding of TDD practices.Open to Emerging Talent: I am keen to engage with individuals seeking to make a mark in the industry and earn a stellar reference. Lesser experience coupled with a strong desire to excel is highly regarded.Ruby on Rails Expertise: A profound grasp of the Ruby on Rails framework is crucial. Candidates with a keenness to rapidly learn and adapt are also welcome.Remote Work: Ability to work effectively in a remote setting.Deadline-Oriented: Must demonstrate an exceptional capability to meet and adhere to project deadlines.Team Collaboration: Comfortable working within a small team environment aimed at making a significant impact.Animal Affinity: It helps if you are a cat or dog lover, given my client is in an industry that deals with pets. This should keep you motivated.Education: Formal education is not a prerequisite.
