Road Freight Operations Planner

Viamaster International Limited, part of the Viamaster Logistics Group, requires an experienced freight forwarding operator to join our team in Morley, West Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will be able to work confidently under pressure and have good decision-making skills in a fast-paced, dynamic freight transport environment.Position Road Freight Operations PlannerReporting to Operational Management team & DirectorsDuties include Planning of groupage and full loads, and express deliveries, to and from European destinationsInteraction with round-trip driversSourcing one-way international equipment and negotiating with hauliersMaintaining close contact with overseas partners and agentsAllocating domestic collections/deliveries to in house domestic team and third-party hauliersHandling customer queries and providing operational updatesManaging KPIs for major clientsData entry and document generationCharging of files in preparation for invoicingCustoms clearance formalities including export/import declarations, GVMS and NCTSSkills and qualities requiredExperience of European road freight operations or similarCommercially awareExtensive working knowledge and experience of customs procedures and documentationA solid knowledge of the import and export marketExcellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.)Good level of administrative skill with an attention to detailConfident and effective communications skills (verbal and electronic), with the ability to build relationships with customers
