Vulcain Engineering provides Engineering consultancy services across multiple Industry sectors on a global scale. Vulcain was founded in the mid-2000s to specialise in energy and environment projects. Our UK business is well positioned within the UK Nuclear industry.
We now have exciting
permanent
opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified Risk Leads to join our our Technical Communities based in the
South West of England
, and be a part of making valuable contributions to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).
Key Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
As part of the Project Management and Project Controls team the Risk Lead’s responsibilities are:
Co-ordinating and facilitating risk and opportunity management responsibilities at programme level, including identification, assessment of schedule and cost impact, management and development reviews, escalation and close out
Making risk and opportunity management recommendations to Managers and Directors, managing the completion of responses to deliver target positions which are measurable and specific
Analysing risks and opportunities to identify their impact and likelihood pre and post risk management treatment
Maintain programme/project risk using necessary software
Understanding and using risk management software
Understanding and using risk and opportunity management frameworks and methodologies
Using project control methodologies and processes for programme and project management
Production of monthly reports
Estimating, scheduling and cost management
Qualifications and Profession Accreditations
The Risk Lead must have, or be working towards the following:
Minimum of HND in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveyingor another related subject
Degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surverying or another related field
Risk, Opportunity, Trend and Change management qualifications e.g. CIRM or APM
Essential or Desirable Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the below are essential:
Risk, Opportunities, Trend and Change
Relevant Risk, Opportunity, Trend and Change management software e.g. ARM (Risk, Opportunity and Trends), EcoSys (Changes), @risk (QCRA), Safran (QSRA)
Excellent English skills, both written and verbal communication
Microsoft Office
Necessary Proven Experience and Knowledge
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience in the below fields:
Undertaking quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis and presentation of risk data
Use of risk management and trend management software such as ARM, Safran, @risk and EcoSys
Operation and management of a Risk and Opportunity Management Framework
Working on projects in high hazard industries including Nuclear, Energy, Rail, Oil & Gas and Aviation
