Job DescriptionOur client is a top 100 law firm seeking to hire an experienced Risk Manager to manage the firm’s risk and compliance policies and procedures and advise on compliance and regulatory matters to partners and staff.Candidates should be able to demonstrate technical knowledge of the SRA regulations, data protection and AML. You will also need line management experience and decision-making skills. Applicants are required to have risk and compliance experience gained at a law firm.Key responsibilities will include:Promoting a culture of compliance within the firm, ensuring everyone is aware of their responsibilities and developing key stakeholder relationshipsSupervising members of the team, providing training and coachingAssisting the MLRO to manage the AML compliance framework, risk assessments, high-risk jurisdiction lists, AML training, sanctions monitoring, etc.Managing day-to-day queries regarding compliance, SRA regulations, conflicts of interest, client and matter management, and data protectionManaging compliance projects including maintaining risk and compliance policies and procedures, compliance with the SRA Standards and Regulations, delivering firm-wide compliance training, managing the firm’s risk management accreditations, creating an audit program, and horizon scanning for regulatory developmentsAnalysing root cause of compliance breaches and making recommendations for improvementsManaging the annual professional indemnity insurance applicationThis role is at a friendly regional firm where employee well-being is at the forefront of workplace culture.
