Job Description
We have a great, new opportunity for a lawyer interested in a role with flexibility, minimal pressure and many opportunities to learn. Our client is a leading national law firm looking for a qualified lawyer with prior experience in risk & compliance or within a private practice to join their lovely and supportive team. This role would be well-suited for someone already with law firm Risk & Compliance experience, a fee earner looking to transition into compliance, or perhaps someone returning to work from a leave of absence.
To apply, you need knowledge of law, regulation and professional standards applicable to a law firm, along with knowledge of data protection and contract law.
Some key responsibilities:
Assist and support the Head of Risk and Compliance (as well as junior members of the team)
Develop the firm’s internal risk and compliance policies and procedures, as well as the firm’s training programme
Liaise with the team, partners and the MLRO
Help legal teams to identify and prioritise internal risk and compliance issues relative to the firm, clients and practice areas
Advise on a multitude of legal, regulatory, risk and compliance related queries (AML, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, Professional Conduct)
Act as an escalation point for AML and conflicts issues
Draft reports to senior management
Contribute to team projects requiring risk and compliance input
Develop the file audit programme, evaluate audit outcomes and work on corrective actions
Communicate updates regarding legal and regulatory compliance to the team, senior management and the firm
