We support the NHS organisations and hospitals ensure patients can access the most appropriate care quickly and efficiently by delivering high quality urgent care and elective services.We now have an exciting opportunity for a Risk and Assurance Officer to join our busy team on a developmental and permanent basis, based at our Cardinal Square office in Derby.As a Risk and Assurance Officer you will support the Director of Corporate Assurance and senior teams in the delivery of risk management and assurance across the business. You will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective operational risk management and assurance process.Working in partnership with the senior leadership and their teams, you will promote a positive and open role in ensuring that a sound system of operational risk management and assurance, identification, reporting and awareness is embedded across the business.Your day to day...As a Risk and Assurance Officer, you will:Risk ManagementProvide leadership and direction to leads / staff in the effective management of operational risk ensuring that a positive, open, and supportive risk management culture is adopted and embedded throughout the organisation.Lead an organisational review of the corporate risk registers and management of the risk registers and relevant policies.Lead a regular review of the local risk registers and ensure an effective interface with the Board Assurance Framework with the senior leadership teams.Supporting the implementation of Risk Management Strategy/Framework by coordinating and managing operational risk management activity and training within the business.Develop an annual Risk Management Plan and ensure that regular reports on progress against the plan are provided to appropriate persons and key groups.Provide leadership to the proactive management of risks across the business ensuring appropriate grading and robust mitigation plans in place.Support the identification of gaps in controls and assurances and where necessary develop action plans to address these.Devise and deliver risk management training programs to staff.Help deliver an effective risk culture by improving risk mechanisms across the business and improving the use of risk systems/tools such as DatixIQ.Provide support to leads / staff in the maintenance of a robust Risk Management system and process.Successfully complete relevant training to support the development of this role, both offline or online.AssuranceEnsuring all the essential assurance guidelines, systems and processes are put in place to adhere to NHS best practice.Ensure that all employees are thoroughly updated about the organisation's policies, regulations, procedures and processes.Qualifications, Experience & Training...Educated to at least degree level in relevant subject or equivalent experienceAble to use a range of software packages including word processing and spreadsheetsAbility to analyse data from a variety of sources and formats and produce reports which include numerical dataAble to produce and present high-quality reports and briefing notes to a wide and varied audienceUse of DatixIQ enterprise risk management or similarAbility to facilitate multidisciplinary groups and meetingsExcellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all members of the multi-disciplinary teamAble to plan, organise and deliver group-wide projects/trainingRewards & Benefits...Annual Leave (pro rata for Part Time) - 25 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays).Pension - 6% employer contribution (salary sacrifice scheme)NHS Pension* if eligible*.My Totally Rewards - A bespoke Rewards & Benefits platform giving you access to hundreds of online and instant discounts across various big-name retailers, cinemas, gym memberships, salary sacrifice schemes, including Wellbeing and Financial resources and support.Access to Blue Light Card and Health Service Employee Discount schemes.Share save scheme - Annual invitation to join the scheme to applicable employees.Enhanced Employee Assistance Programme - Provided by Health Assured.We Care including Virtual GP Services - 24/7 GP Appointments.Refer a friend Scheme.Death in Service - A tax-free lump sum of cash for your loved ones and beneficiaries.For a full job description, further information about this role or to apply please contact the Resourcing team on via email at ##### detailsPay Type SalaryApply now
