Role: RF Engineer / Radio-Frequency Engineer
Location: Monmouthshire, South East Wales (on-site)
Day Rate: £400 - £450pd. (outside IR35)
Contract Length: 3-month contract (with possible extension)
The Civils and Infrastructure division at Ford and Stanley are proud to be working with a well-established technology and civils-based rail company who are looking for an experienced RF Engineer on a contract basis. An RF Engineer is required to work on a high-profile Network Rail project based in South East Wales, where you will be working with dual-band repeater amplifiers, radio room testing and commissioning and cable swapping. Subject to possessions, this piece of work is due to start from the first week of April, as such we are looking to commence interviews as soon as possible.
Criteria to be considered:
  • Demonstrate a solid knowledge of working with various passive RF devices, active RF-over-fibre and transmission systems including coaxial cables and terminations, antenna feeder systems, radiating cable and distributed systems
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of operating RF measurement test equipment. Autonomously able to conduct and analyse cable tests including; DTF; VSWR; and PIM.
    Spectrum analysis, interference assessment and ICNIRP compliance test experience.
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of the fundamentals of Radio Frequency and its use in mobile communications - GSM-R/GSM/UMTS/TETRA/LTE and Wi-Fi.
  • Sentinel Competency at PTS is preferable.
