What you will get in your new role

For this position, the salary is £23,000 per annum pro rata, with core working hours from 9am until 5pm, Saturday and Sunday, with the opportunity to work additional hours if desired. You will also benefit from the cycle-to-work scheme, bereavement leave and employee assistance programme.

Responsibilities within your new role Retirement Home Supervisor

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Manager in overseeing operations at the retirement home. Your key responsibility is to ensure residents receive exceptional tenancy management and property maintenance services for their homes.

Moreover, you will play a vital role in upkeeping communal facilities to foster a welcoming, secure, and comfortable environment for residents and visitors alike. Additionally, you will actively encourage tenant involvement and utilisation of these facilities to enhance community engagement.

Your experience, qualifications and personality

The ideal candidate for the role of Retirement Home Supervisor should have experience in housing, social care, or health services settings, gained through professional work, personal involvement, or volunteering. You must possess strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain professional relationships with tenants, their families, colleagues, and other professionals, all while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.

It is crucial to have a deep understanding of the specific needs and rights of older individuals in supported housing environments, along with the ability to manage emergency situations effectively. Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency in managing and supporting a small team, with prior supervisory experience being beneficial.

A qualification in Housing or a related field, such as HNC/SVQ Level 2 or equivalent, would be advantageous.
